Houston R-1 School District is hiring for a Bus Driver for the 2026-2027 school year.

 

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for operating the student transportation vehicle safely and efficiently, transferring students to and from school over specified routes, and driving activity trips as requested.

 

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Full-Time or Part-Time

 

REPORTS TO: Transportation Director

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Transportation Director in accordance with provisions of Board policy GDN: Evaluation of Support Staff.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Nine (9) month employee. This is an at-will position that may be terminated by either the school district or the employee with a two-week notice. Wages are dependent on experience, as determined by the board-approved salary schedule. Drivers are eligible for a benefit package as established by the board of education if their route is at least three hours/day.
